My name is Brad, and I am the owner of Apex Furnishings. As I will be the person making all of the products for sale on this website, I thought it would be a good idea to share a little about myself.

I live and work in the coastal city of Mackay, Queensland. I was born in Victoria and moved up here with my parents when I was about 5 years old. My grandparents would soon follow us up for the laid-back lifestyle and warmer weather.

My love for woodworking started from a very young age. My first memories of working with wood were whittling discarded wood scraps at my grandparents’ place, with a Swiss Army Knife that I snuck out of my Grandfather’s shed. In my early and late teens, I worked alongside my Father, who is now a retired Carpenter.

It was the purchase of my first woodworking tools (a thicknesser and bench sander) that inspired me to do this professionally. I think it’s safe to say that I’ve been cutting, sanding and carving ever since.
